A Depressing Time

Since my last posting Phil and I have had a very depressing and frustrating time.
The documentation got lost some where at the Bank of Scotland and we have spent a lot of agonising days and phone calls getting it found and things moving again. I shall not bore you with the full story but at last today we have heard that not only have they come back all signed but it has also all gone through land registry so we are just waiting to hear from the planners that we can start work again.
Before all this happened we got a great big hole dug and the driveway put in as far as the roundabout. since then we have produced our own Loch which has been iced over in the very cold weather we have had. I suppose in a way we would not have been able to do a lot because of the weather and surely soon this has got to get warmer and spring has to come.
Phil has got all the different trades lined up ready to move in at the given time (I bet it does not work out like that.) He is going to do a lot himself - mainly because he wants to partly because of cost. Everything and everybody is so expensive up here - a hazard of living in the Highlands. He plans to do a lot of the plumbing with some help with the more difficult bits eg the boiler and also the electrics.
We have also been busy looking at the interior design - kitchens, bathrooms etc. The best bit and I find that fun.
We hope to get the Donald and his diggers back in at the beginning of April and he has a week to clear ready for the foundations. I shall then be keeping this site updated so all that are interested can keep informed.
